Well, as suspected the seam just pulled apart when I tried to tuck in into the zbar.

I guess we will have to go with a different type of transition until we get new carpet. Bummer.

One more question on this situation. I cut the half inch off that I tried to tuck into the zbar and now I’m left with this half inch gap.

Is it possible to stretch the carpet enough to get enough to tuck into the zbar? I haven’t ever messed with stretching carpet so I dont know how much you can expect it to stretch.

If that isnt possible I will have to go with the transition method in your other video and use a transition strip until we can get the carpet replaced.

If you think its possible to stretch it enough I will rent a stretcher and try that. It is 12ft from the doorway to the opposite wall, so that is how much carpet I am dealing with to try and stretch.

Hi Joe. Here is a copy of the diagram with the doorways in question. I would like to try the stretching method because if I can utilize the zbar it looks a lot better. I dont think we will be replacing the carpet anytime soon, so something a little more appealing would be a better option.

I hear you on creating more problems with bubbles in the carpet though. If you think after looking at the layout of these rooms that stretching will cause more problems than its worth I will probably just utilize one of the simple transitions you should me.

Let me know if you need any better diagrams. You can use the one off the blueprint review too I guess, sine you know which rooms I am talking about now.

Yeah, sorry about not clarifying that first picture. The wood hadn’t been installed yet, I was just checking where to end it. I did end up going a little past that casing like you suggested. I included a picture of the 3rd bedroom that I was able to utilize the zbar in because the carpet didnt have a seam in the doorway on that room. The zbar option does look really clean.
