  uneven/multiple types of subfloor

  Greetings Joe,

  I am a new member and am going to install a vinyl plank (Cali Product) floor going multiple areas including a kitchen being completely redone but first had to remove an existing ceramic tile floor (home built with a crawl space). As I removed tile I found several changes in subfloor type from plywood to Thinset, to concrete (UGH!). In order to make the floor level and consistent I am considering using a self leveling product to even the floor; is this something you believe is necessary or is there a better way?
