I need some help with a transition suggestion, or just to advise to rip up the old floor. I’d rather not do the latter, and just proceed with a transition piece.

It’s my hallway to foyer transition. There appears to be about a 1/2″ difference between the hallway underlayment and the wood tiled floor. I am very sure that they used glue to keep the tongue and groove wood flooring down.

What’s the best way to offset this, and avoid tearing up the old wood floor and just putting the laminate flooring over the top?

The subfloor looks good, by the way.

This is great Joe. I’m going to remove the floor. It’s not a big area. What tools do you recommend besides a crowbar and a floor scraper? God bless you too, brother!
