Subfloor- Center of House
-
Joe-
We have a ranch style house. I found this when I ripped up the carpet in the hallway. It looks like some kind of joint between each half of the house.
Do you know why it’s there?
There’s a height difference between the subfloor and this joint and the patch compound that’s on there is pretty rough. Should I sand it smooth and level it with Henry 549?

We haven’t been here since the house was new. I think you’re right about the house being built off site. I remember reading a label on our electrical panel that hints to it being built off site. Can’t remember the exact words.
I’ll sand and remove what I can from the old patch and fill it with 549. Thanks Joe.
