Newel – to undercut or not to undercut
I don’t know how staircases are installed. Can you tell me if I can undercut the newel post, should finish with quarter round, or some other option? One picture is clean and the other is marked where I would put the quarter round, if needed, since I also have a meet of plank to carpet on the stairs.
