    Hello Joe,

    Happy New Year 2024!

Thanks to your help and videos we finished laying our floor in all our rooms without transitions. The floor is level within 1/16th of an inch in both directions. We do have a crawl space but it is encapsulated and stays fairly dry and warm most of the year. We have installed baseboard throughout each room. However, we are seeing some of the planks separating on the ends and a couple on the sides. What is the best tool / method of tightening up these joints? How do we prevent further separation, if possible?

    Thank you,

    Clayton Dean

What brand was that plank? Do you have some pics of the gapping?

    Thanks Joe,

I tried the double tape method, but I must not have the right glue as it took awhile to dry and it didn’t stick very well. So I ended up taking the baseboard off and worked from the shortest distance from the gap. This worked 100% of the time and spans quite a distance too. Thanks for all your help!

Thanks for sharing! That is exactly why I don’t put those gimmick videos out. Those trick methods almost never work. Pull off the base and use a pull bar…
