Didn’t see that one coming!
The whole plan was to use the left (East) well in my house as the measuring wall. You know, create a straight line from which I will lay the first room forward, then the second room backward, working back from the straight line. You know… like you taught me.
When I went to make the giant straight line that spans both rooms, the line looked off. So I measured from the wall to a piece of molding on the stairs (on both sides), and lo and behold, they were 2.5″ off! yea… The wall on the top is a two-story wall to a vaulted ceiling, and they used 2x6s instead of 2x4s and put a sheet of CDX on top of that.
That was a head-scratcher until I figured it out LOL.
