Check out this difference in height
Goodness… i always knew this had a drop off here but didn’t realize it was this bad. It looks like the drop off goes from the dining room to the family room and then levels off from there (last picture is level just in the family room).
So my question is, would you consider putting feather finished down or would you throw down a quarter inch underlayment in the entire room?
My only concern with putting laminate down in the entire room is when you get back over to the entryway, near the stairs, and it being potentially higher.

Thank you, Joe! That makes a lot of sense. You are correct, it is that walkway between the family room and dining room 👍🏼.
It does seem to be just a little hollow low spot in that area. So I might just get some feather finish for that spot.
And good news on the asbestos testing. It came back negative! So I’m going to continue with demo and purchase my new OSB today! Only about 13 sheets of 3/4” to install now 😂
