Build up subfloor – plywood, OSB, particle board?
I’m just beginning my project to install vinyl plank throughout my ground floor. The current floor covering is carpet over pad in the living areas with sheet vinyl over a combination of 1/2″ plywood and particle board in the kitchen, dining room, laundry and bathroom.
First question – am I better off installing 1/2″ sheeting in the carpeted areas to bring it level with the vinyl areas since several door casings are already cut to that level?
Question 2 – is it ok with OSB or am I better off with plywood?
I will forward my blueprint drawing later after I’ve finished leveling and preparing the subfloor.
Thanks so much for all your help!
