Wife wants to run parallel with front door, and she wants carpet in living room as noted in pic.
What’s your thought on this flooring?

I did not buy planks yet, the joints on sample seem tuff I can break but not easily, and the butter knife test it doesn’t dig in but does leave a very fine scratch.
I didn’t order planks because I didn’t know if you would know a good way to layout the walkway thru living room, or if you think its a bad idea and maybe should plank the entire living room instead. Tell me what you think and I will order planks.
Will it help if I give measurements of floor plan and planks ,maybe order planks before you do my blueprint?

Can I leave trim on wall and just install next to it ?
I can send pictures of living room if you need me to.

Ok, Yes planks parallel to door like you illustrated.
We decided to plank everything (even closet, bathroom, pantry) disregard divider lines.
I just got the planks and here is photos to show you the locking system, measured plank width 7 3/32 inches.

Hello Joe,
1st off, thank you, great job on my blueprint.
As I’m wrapping my brain around this, I am figuring out how to do all the pre-work before planks.
I think I am going to plank front room to maybe other side of stairs and stop.
plank backwards to front door, put back toilet and sink, and trim.
That way I can put furniture in front room and then continue planking.
Any thoughts or objections on this?
