Blueprint Layout Request for Jason S
Hello Joe, I signed up for your university earlier today. I’m excited to learn from you. I am diving in for a big project on the downstairs of my house and I need your help. I’m planning on getting started right away but I have two big questions because of our layout on where to start and how to minimize transitions. Plus, avoiding going backwards as much as possible. So, time to all in an expert.
I am using 4mm thick Rigid Core Luxury Vinyl for the project. I am attaching two drawings. The first with general layout and a second with some additional notes. I’m also attaching images of the product.
General Blueprint: “Jason S Layout”
1. This is the downstairs layout of our house. It’s not exactly scale, but close, and represents the layout well.
2. The rooms title in Red text is where the new flooring be installed. (The rooms in smaller grey text will not have the new flooring installed.)Blueprint: “Jason S Layout notes”
I made this additional layout to add some detail for assumptions / questions for you…
1. The blue lines are showing the direction I feel the follow will go based on your videos and my general design eye — especially with the main entry going into the living room
2. My biggest concern is how to minimize and eliminate the need for transitions going from the front entry to the dining room and then kitchen which comes together from front entry to living room to kitchen (I marked each point with purple stars). How do I make that work without need a transition? Is that impossible? Without your expertise and direction, it feels like I will need a transition between dining room and kitchen.
3. Where do you recommend I start? (Marked with blue arrows) — In the Dining room or in the Master Bedroom?Blessings,
Jason
