Blueprint Ben B
Posted by informatics on August 19, 2022 at 3:50 pmRoom design attached. I have 2 questions:
1.) I have lvp laid already in my living room—> should I follow the lengthwise seams of the lvp there? If I do, my initial plank row behind my door would be about 2 and 1/4″.
2.) The livingroom (lvp) to bedroom (carpet) transition was put in sloppily by the contractor with glue. What should I do here?

Hi Joe,
You are correct as in your vid, the transition is between the living room and the master bedroom. A few pics from yesterday. It was glued on by the contractor. Should I leave this, or pull it up and replace? From what the contractor did, I don’t think he used a base plate / u-channel to anchor it to, just glue. … I was disappointed enough with the quality of that job to decide to learn to do the rest by myself :).
Also, I assume I should start at the top of the blueprint on the bathroom side of the room and work my way down?

Also, we will be using the same brand/style/item as what’s in the living room. I’ll follow the joints as you suggest! Should I use spacers at the walls for expansion?

I am out of the office today and I will get to this when I get back

Also, I’m assuming I start upper left of my blueprint with tongue side toward the wall? Does it matter which direction the tongue/groove is in relation to the living room since there is a transition?

Hi, it’s 3 3/4 from the drywall to the door jamb , then 1 1/4 into the middle of the T mold. Pics attached.

Pic is at an angle, but dead on it’s 3 3/4″ drywall to the end of the jamb.

Excellent vid! Thanks. For my bedroom to bathroom, it will be LVP to carpet, BUT we will be having the bathroom redone at some point shortly… I haven’t watched your tile series yet so we’ll see if I take that on! What would you suggest for a transition here? Thanks!
