Morning Joe, I hope all is well with you & yours. It’s been a while since we’ve talked. A lot has happened also. Our house had an electrical fire and we’ve spent a long time waiting for repairs to be finished. Lucky for us, we hadn’t pulled the trigger on the install just yet when the fire happened. So, fortunately, I now have a completely empty house, with freshly floated floors to install our vinyl flooring on. I have a bit of a conundrum though. The contractor who floated the floors had to deal with deviations of nearly 2” in some areas. I knew the floors were off, but I didn’t know they were that bad. Anyhow, we now have lips of an inch, to an inch and a half at most of the doorways. He says we can install transitions to cover those. I don’t know if I like that… should we do it room by room and put transitions, or is it possible to feather out 4 to 6 feet on either side and flatten it out? Will that affect the integrity of the locking system of the planks causing them to fall apart later? I’m not sure what we should do here?
