One other question – in the downstairs ½ bathroom across from the current laundry closet . . . that entire side of the house is all 12”x12” floor tile that I’m taking up. However, that ½ bath doorway has a row of full tile sitting right in the middle of it (running east west). I’d like to keep tile in that bathroom, so that will require me to cut the tile in the doorway and then join it up with the new flooring with a transition strip. How (or with what) would you recommend cutting that tile (that’s already attached to the floor) in two without cracking it? If it cracks, I guess that bathroom will get new flooring as well. LOL. This is where I’m at a disadvantage being in new construction. We’d cut it before we laid it in a new house. But being already laid, what would be the best way to cut a straight line in that tile to keep that bathroom tile while removing all the tile around it outside of the bathroom? No rush on the answer. Just at your convenience.
