    Hi Joe,

I need some advice with the stairs.

    Riser 8.25”

    Tread 9.75

    33” wide

I want a white risers so I was thinking of cutting melamine 4 x 8 sheet to make the risers but it is 3/4 inch thick. Is that too thick to make the risers out of? I also heard I could use a white Formica sheet but not too sure about how much work it is or how to go about it. I’m trying to be cost effective.

The stair nose is quite expensive that comes from the flooring company. Another option is to use a unfinished wood thread and try to stain it to match the flooring. Love to hear your input on any of this and other ideas for the stairs.

Once I do figure What do you use for the risers do all the risers go on first and then the treads go on top of them or is it riser thread riser thread.

I will try to upload a photo of the stairs. But in the past my photos won’t show up on your site and if that’s the case I will text it to you.

    R the

    Thank you,

    Lori
