Plane and Glue

I’m to the point where I’m needing to plane and glue some plank. I did a small sample on some scraps using gorilla a glue and while it wasn’t loose, I wouldn’t call it a strong bond. My plank has a stone polymer core (link below). Is there something else I should be using for glue?

Did you get the joint moist before applying the glue?

  I did, but maybe not enough. I set another one last night and will check on it in a few hours.
