Layout for complex floorplan
Hi Joe!
We have a rambling floorplan and I’d love your expert guidance. I started to sketch it out, but had to abandon the effort and draw walls on a photo of the foundation blueprint. We intend to run 9″x72″ vinyl SCP through most of this level.
The longest straight run is the entryway, with the dining room in front and hallways to left and right. The east hallway has a bed/bath on one end, passes stairs and laundry, then ends at kitchen/living room. The west hallway passes the study, then ends at the master bedroom. We plan to follow your hallway rule and run plank longwise down the 2 halls. I’ll have lots of questions, but first off, where to start?
Option A: Start at the bottom right wall (living room) and work my way west. That would minimize working backwards. However, that wall has built-ins, so I’m less confident that I could get a nice straight start.
Option B: Start on the bottom left and work east. That gives me an easy wall to start on, but puts me backwards into a few feet of the master, all of the study, and a short bit of hall into the northwest bedroom.
Option C: Maybe you see a better third option?
Thank you so much, finding your website has been a blessing!
