Joints Coming Apart
Hi Joe,
I finished my project a few weeks ago (thanks for the compliments on my previous post!), but there are two areas that I’m concerned about.
1. Entryway – there are a couple of spots where the butt joints are starting to gap. One is more significant than the other and seems to be getting bigger. Pics attached of the entryway and closeup of the two gaps. The bookcase is not normally there – just there momentarily for a carpet install in the neighboring bedroom. Should I try and pop up the cemented T-molding and tap back? It definitely was not gapped like this when I put everything together.
2. Area near the stairs – there is a longer joint that is starting to come apart a little. I knew this was there (although smaller initially), but I had already glued a bunch of pieces together near there and worked my way into the bathroom next to it.
Everything else looks and feels great, but I don’t want these areas to get worse. I’m over concrete slab down here.
