I am installing vinyl planks on concrete floor. The living room has a fireplace. I have a few questions:
1. Since there is no trim, how to leave a gap in front of the fireplace?
2. Would the heat from the fireplace create problems for the vinyl planks?
Thanks.

Yes, leave an 1/8 inch gap and use a silicone to fill that gap. The heat from that fireplace should not affect the plank. If it does, you can always cut the plank back in the future, but I don’t see it being an issue.
