Door Jamb Plank Partially Exposed

  Thanks Joe! Great information. As it is currently, if I leave the standard 1/4″ clearance to the 2×4 framing the jamb, plank width will be reduced to 5/8″ for that 4″ span under there. I might be able to grind away about 3/8″ of that 2×4 plate to allow the plank width to be 1″? (The planks are 6′ by 8″) Thoughts?
  
  To answer your question at the end… I’m using my wife’s Zoom setup… the Webcam is a Logitech Logitech c922 Pro Stream Webcam and the mic is a R0DE NT-USB on a scissors stand.

    Yes you can chop away some of the plate to make it a little bigger.
