Looking for some advice on caulking in bathroom and such. I am installing Lifeproof LVP room by room and in bathroom and laundry as well as where the dogs stay (They have accidents occasionally) I don’t want that going under the baseboards into the void (expansion gap) and getting messy over time. I went ahead and used silicone to seal up the tub and bathroom as well as laundry room. I will be doing the kitchen and great room shortly which is fairly large and don’t want any trouble with the floor as a result. Any advice is appreciated

Thank you Joe. I only applied silicone to the bottom of the baseboard to the plank and again to the cabinet trim just so no water works it’s way under. I really appreciate your comments and advice. I have a couple more I will post in the near future. Thank again.

Quick question, probably pretty dumb but I am curious. Is it necessary to caulk the toilet. It has a nice clean look without it. I’m not a plumber, I’ve only ever installed fixtures and toilets. In the past I caulked it because that’s the only way I have ever seen it done. Nothing leaks and it sits nice and firm and level.

    Thanks in advance,

That is a great question. No, you don’t have to caulk it. It looks sharp! You can definitely leave it if you want.
