Blueprint Request
Posted by Lois on November 3, 2021 at 6:27 pmWe are installing Tarkett vinyl plank click and lock flooring in the living areas, kitchen, and hallways of our ranch home. I have attached a drawing with the areas highlighted that will be LVP. We would greatly appreciate suggestions about where to start. There is a gas fireplace with a stone hearth in the corner in the living room. We will need suggestions about how to cut the plank for that. We have been watching your videos and find them very helpful. Thank you and God bless!

The space we are installing on currently has some carpet and some laminate plank. The direction of that plank is E-W and it looks fine that way so let’s go with that layout. We are happy to do what is the easiest too. I will have to get back to you tomorrow regarding the tongue and groove after I try to get the info from the vendor. (Our product is on order.) I will try to get back to you in the AM.

Just let me know when you can. I do have time tomorrow morning if needed, but then I am unable to do a blueprint until the 15th.

It appears to be T on top, T on left, G on right, and G on bottom. I will attach photos of the 2 ends. I know you may not get to the blueprint for awhile. No worries. We don’t have the product yet.

Thank you for the blueprint. It is very helpful. I am uploading pictures of the hearth area. Any suggestions for cutting the plank for that area would be great.

We are now getting close to installing up to our bathroom which has linoleum. What kind of a transition should we do there? I will attach a picture. There is some plywood under the linoleum, about 3/16 or so.

Wow! That angle grinder was just the thing. We rented it for $10 and it took my husband 15 minutes to do the work. The hearth looks wonderful. I will attach a picture. We still have work to do on replacing the vent and some quarter round. But I think it looks super. Thanks for a great suggestion.
