    Thanks for the insight. I think we would like to run it East to West. I was initially thinking of centering down the E-W hallway and across the living/dining room. That is not blocked by a door and will be left open. I realize now that would leave us working backward for half of the house. I may get some planks out and test fitting them both ways to see how difficult it is. We are using a hybrid plank (Floor and Decor Optimax). I think it will behave more like a laminate… But I am not sure really. I am also planning on using an underlayment to help with sound transfer. We have a finished basement under the West half of the house. I have linked the flooring below and copied the underlayment description from Amazon.
